The renter's spouse or partner who meets the same age and driver's license requirements as the renter is an authorized driver at no additional cost. Any other authorized driver must be present at time of rental and meet age and license requirements. An additional $15 per day will be added to the rental fee for each additional authorized driver, unless other contractual terms apply.
A spouse or common-law partner is the only additional driver allowed in a rental secured by a debit card. -

This reservation is made via a Contract Identifier (CID) number assigned to the corporate account and is for qualified renters only. Use of this CID by persons other than qualified tenants is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action. Tenants using this CID may be required to show proof of employment or authorization (eg business card, current email with company domain name, work order, etc.). Questions about acceptable proof of employment or authorization should be directed to your tour guide.

US Lease: Most US lease vehicles can be driven anywhere in the US and Canada. Certain categories of vehicles (such as exotic cars, passenger cars or trucks, and other specialty vehicles) may not be permitted for travel outside the United States. Go directly to the rental website for details on cross-border restrictions.
Most places do not allow travel to Mexico. If you wish to travel to Mexico, you will need to purchase additional insurance to cover your vehicle while in Mexico. Please contact the branch directly to determine restrictions and availability.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is not insurance. Purchasing a CDW is optional and not required when renting a car.
Optional CDW can be purchased for an additional fee. If you purchase a CDW, we contractually agree to reimburse you for all or part of the cost of damage, loss or theft of the vehicle, subject to the actions set out in the rental agreement that cause the CDW to expire. DW does not apply to damage occurring in Mexico.
When deciding whether to purchase collision coverage, you may want to check with your insurance agent or credit card company to determine whether your vehicle has been damaged or stolen, whether you have coverage or protection against such damage or theft, and whether the amount of your excessive or excessive risk.
*For rentals originating in California - CDW ranges from $10.99 to $500.00 per day depending on the type of rental car.

For retail rentals secured with extended protection (excluding any liability protection or insurance coverage provided by commercial contracts) only to the extent of rental costs, the following provisions apply:
Extended Protection (EP) (if applicable): The owner provides third party protection to the hirer or any AAD in an amount equal to the minimum financial liability limit for the vehicle (primary protection). EP also provides additional protection against third parties through an excess liability policy for vehicles hired by the owner due to use or operation by the hirer or AAD, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy. EP includes UM/UIM bodily injury and property damage insurance (only if required by law for property damage) in an amount equal to the minimum financial liability limit (primary protection) applicable to the vehicle and an additional excess policy, in .Cap the difference between the statutory minimum basis limit and $100,000 per appearance ($100,000 per person/$300,000 per appearance for rentals beginning in New York for rentals beginning in New York; UM/UIM for rentals beginning in Hawaii Limit is $1,000,000) or combined single limit. state UM/UIM threshold limits, whichever is greater. Landlord and Tenant decline to accept additional UM/UIM insurance to the extent permitted by law. EP (including UM/UIM benefits) is only provided when the renter or an AAD operates the vehicle. No UM/UIM claim can be made for negligence on the part of the driver of the vehicle. EP coverage only applies when another AAD or renter drives the vehicle in the US and Canada. coverage is not valid in Mexico. As a customer, you can choose how you pay for your fuel.
Option 1 - Prepaid Fuel - This option allows the renter to pay for a full tank of gas at the time of rental and return the empty tank. The price is based on an estimate of current fuel prices and the average tank size of the car received. Unused gas is not refundable.
Option 2 - We fill again. -- This option allows the lessee to pay Alamo for gas used but not replaced at the end of the lease. The price per gallon will be higher than local fuel prices.
Option 3 - Refill. -- This option allows the renter to return the vehicle with a full tank to avoid additional fuel charges.

Customers residing in the United States, US territories or Canada
Customers residing in the United States, US territories or Canada must present a valid, unexpired government-issued driver's license along with the customer's photo. Digital licenses are not accepted. The driver's license must be valid for the entire rental period.
Active duty members of the United States Armed Forces may present an expired home state permit under the following conditions:

They comply with the military expansion policy of the country that issued the license. These policies vary by state and customers are encouraged to contact their respective Department of Motor Vehicles for more information.
Customers renting in Florida and presenting a Connecticut or Delaware license: Effective July 1, 2023, some (but not all) licenses issued by the above states are considered invalid under Florida law and therefore will not be accepted. Contact the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to determine if your driver's license is valid under Florida law. Passengers traveling to the United States and Canada from other countries
It is important that customers contact the appropriate Department of Motor Vehicles in the state or province where they intend to travel to ensure compliance with the various licensing laws. Digital licenses are not accepted. The following procedures are used to ensure that customers present a valid license at the time of rental.
Passengers traveling to the United States and Canada from other countries must present the following documents:
Your home country driver's license is valid, unexpired and has a photo attached and
If the language of the driver's license in the country of origin is not English (or French, for car rentals in Canada) and the alphabet is in English (ie German, Spanish, etc.), an international driver's license is recommended (but not required) for translation purposes other than the license certificate of the country of origin.
If your national driving license is in a language other than English and the alphabet is not English (ie the letters are not an extended Latin alphabet like German or Spanish, but Russian, Japanese, Arabic, etc.), you must to use an international driver's license.
If it is not possible to obtain an international driver's license in your country, another professional typed translation can be used. In both cases, the national license must also be presented.
Customers can only rent a car with an international driver's license. An international driver's license is a translation of a driver's license from a person's home country and is not considered a driver's license nor is it considered a valid ID.
- In some areas of the United States, customers who do not have a US driver's license may be required to provide additional documentation. This may include, for example, a valid passport or, in some states (Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas), a valid Mexican voter registration card and/or inbound and outbound travel documents.
- In some areas of Canada, customers who do not hold a Canadian driver's license may be asked to present other valid government-issued documents. Examples of this might include a valid passport.

Any license that expressly restricts the licensee to the use and operation of vehicles equipped with some form of breathalyzer will not be accepted.
If the rental location cannot verify the customer's identity or verify the authenticity of the temporary driver's license, the temporary driver's license may be denied. Additional government-issued identification may be required.

Personal Effects Coverage (PEC) can be rented for an additional daily fee. If accepted, the PEC included in the contract will insure against the risk of loss or damage to the hirer's personal belongings, additional drivers or other persons traveling with the hirer. Benefits are paid in addition to any other insurance the charterer or passenger may have. This is just a summary. The PEC is subject to the terms, limitations and exclusions of the PEC policy underwritten by Empire Fire and Marine Insurance Company of America. Purchasing a PEC is optional and not required when renting a car. The coverage provided by the PEC can double the renter's existing coverage. Alamo is unable to evaluate the adequacy of a renter's existing coverage. Therefore, renters should check their personal insurance policies or other sources of insurance that may duplicate the coverage offered by PEC.

All renters and additional drivers must be at least 21 years old. All renters must have a valid driver's license and a major credit or debit card in their name. People with a study permit or a teaching permit are not eligible to rent. This is just a summary. See the Driving License Information Policy for more details.

The minimum charge for drivers ages 21 to 24 is $25 per day. Renters between the ages of 21 and 24 can rent the following vehicle categories: economy to large cars, trucks and minivans and compact, small and standard SUVs for up to 5 passengers.
Debit CardsAt airport locations, debit cards are only accepted if the rental is accompanied by a return ticketed itinerary. The name and address on the renter's driver's license must match their current home address. Active military members are exempt from the address requirement.
No additional drivers are permitted other than the renter's spouse or common-law partner.
If a payment card is used to pay an amount owed, those amounts will be reduced by the available funds in the account linked to the Renter's payment card. In addition, the Lessee is responsible for any overdraft charges.

The estimated total rent on the viewing and booking screens and/or booking confirmation email will be charged to the payment method specified by the renter. If the ordered rent changes, the estimated total rent may change, but will still be billed through the payment method specified by the tenant.
In the case of a lease, the lessee will enter into a lease (“Agreement”) applicable to the lease, which contains a summary of the lease agreement and additional terms and conditions.
Deposit amount
Renters who do not have a round trip ticket must pay a deposit of $400 or $850 for the following vehicle classes: Performance Sport, Full Size Luxury SUV, Electric Luxury SUV, to account for additional amounts owed by the renter under contract . full-size elite electric sedan, mid-size sport luxury sedan, full-size luxury sedan, premium luxury sedan, electric luxury sedan, premium luxury SUV, tire luxury SUV, sedan and Corvette.

Debit cards are only accepted when the rental is accompanied by a return ticket.
The renter must pay the deposit using the payment method listed above. The deposit will not be available and/or returned to the renter until the vehicle is returned.
If the hirer incurs additional amounts due under the contract, these additional amounts may be deducted from the hirer's security deposit (if any). If these additional amounts are not deducted from the security deposit amount (if any), they will be charged according to the payment method specified by the Renter at the time of rental, unless the Renter specifies another payment method as described above.
If a payment card is used to pay any of the above amounts, the available funds in the account linked to the Renter's payment card will reduce these amounts. In addition, the Lessee is responsible for any overdraft charges.
Money orders and prepaid cards are not acceptable forms of payment (including deposits) at the time of rental, but can be used to cover any amount due when the vehicle is returned at the end of the rental. Cash is not accepted.
In addition to one of the above payment methods, a credit card with sufficient available credit as indicated on the renter's profile or rewards account (Emerald Club, E Club, etc.) will also be accepted as payment for all amounts due under the contract.
All amounts owed by the Renter under the Agreement will be (a) submitted as a hold-back authorization and ultimately charged to the Renter's credit or debit card, or (b) charged to the Renter's payment card.

Renters can purchase Roadside Plus (RSP) at an additional cost to the owner. If the renter purchases an RSP, the owner agrees, in the event of conduct that causes the collision damage waiver to be waived, to contractually indemnify the renter from liability for the cost of providing 24/7 roadside assistance, if any, including replacement lost key (including remote control unit), flat tire service (vehicle will be towed if spare is not inflated. RSP does not cover tire replacement), lockout service (if key is locked in vehicle), jump start assist and uphill fuel delivery service If the vehicle runs out of gas, fill with 3 gallons (or equivalent) of fuel. The Roadside Plus service is only available in the United States and Canada. If the renter has not purchased an RSP, or if the RSP expires as described above, roadside assistance is provided for a standard fee. RSP is not available in Mexico.Call for roadside assistance1-800-803-4444. In California, Kansas, Missouri, Nevada and New York, RSPs do not cover keys.

Supplemental Liability Protection (SLP) is available on rentals for an additional daily fee. If accepted, the SLP will provide charterers and licensed drivers with a combined single limit of up to $300,000 for third party claims. If the renter accepts the SLP, Alamo will provide third party liability coverage up to the applicable minimum financial responsibility limit, and Zurich American Insurance will provide third party liability coverage in excess of the applicable minimum financial responsibility limit up to $300,000. This is just a summary. SLP is subject to the terms, conditions, provisions, limitations and exclusions of the supplemental rental liability insurance policy entered into by Zurich American Insurance Company. The purchase of an SLP is optional and not required when renting a car. Coverage provided by the SLP may duplicate the tenant's existing coverage. Alamo is unable to assess the adequacy of a renter's existing insurance coverage. Therefore, renters should check their personal insurance policies or other sources of insurance that may duplicate the coverage provided by SLP.

TollPass is the e-toll program that allows our renters to drive through e-toll lanes and pay tolls electronically without having to stop and pay with cash. In addition, many toll stations have been fully converted to electronic toll collection and the option for passengers to stop at toll booths and pay in cash has been removed.
